The tour is full.
An optional tour will be held the afternoon of Tuesday, November 5, starting at the end of the scheduled program.
Tour participants must be registered for the workshop prior to signing up, and the tours are limited to the first 76 participants who sign up within the deadlines noted below.
Two buses will transport participants from the Marriott to Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and back. Travel and tour stops are anticipated to take approximately 3.5 hours and will return to the Marriott at approximately 6:30 p.m.
Destinations include:
- Tour of the large scale molten salt test loops, FASTR and LSTL
- Tour of laboratories dedicated to salt-materials interaction and compatibility
- Tour of the Materials Plasma Exposure eXperiment (MPEX) facility, designed to study plasma-material interaction
- Brief stop outside the MSRE site, meeting with UCOR representatives
- Loop around Kairos Power’s Hermes Reactor Site, meeting with Kairos representatives
The deadlines to sign up, until spots are filled, are:
- September 11th (now closed) for non-US citizen participants and Legal Permanent Residents
- October 18th (now closed) for US Citizen participants
